Whether it’s a weekend break, business trip, stopover on the way to/from Ireland, staycation, or holiday, the Boathouse Hotel is ideal for all travellers and business clients who want a comfy bed, good food, a friendly atmosphere, and perhaps a tasty tipple or two!
The Boathouse Hotel is nestled in a dip on Newry Beach Promenade on the Anglesey Coastal Path, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with Holyhead Mountain as its backdrop and the sea close enough to hear the waves breaking at full tide.
The Boathouse Hotel has 17 ensuite single, double, twin, and family rooms, newly refurbished, painted and recarpeted, with comfy beds, televisions, tea and coffee making facilities, and free Wi-Fi. Our ground floor rooms have wheelchair access, and many rooms have fabulous views over the sea and Holyhead Mountain in our lucky location. Some rooms are pet-friendly, so pets are welcome too (additional charges apply).
We offer corporate packages and deals for groups, extended stays, and frequent customers. Deals can include room only, B&B, and B&B with 1-3 course meals. Packed lunches, buffets, and takeaway breakfasts are available on request. Please contact us to discuss accommodation deals and requirements.
Our environmental aims make the Boathouse Hotel the obvious choice for travellers and environmentally and socially responsible corporate businesses. You can also opt to offset your carbon footprint for your stay.
Following some vast recent improvements, Wi-fi is now available throughout the hotel, dining room, and bar – happy days.
Our Hotel and Location
The Hotel is a few minutes by car from the ferry terminal, Holyhead train station, places of historic interest, and nature reserves, making it perfect for a quick stopover or a base to explore the local area. We're within easy walking distance of the Breakwater Country Park, Holyhead Breakwater, nature reserves with an abundance of nature and rare species, secluded coves, and tourist attractions such as the Holyhead Maritime Museum, Saint Cybi’s Church, Roman forts, Holyhead Mountain and North Stack. We're only a short drive away from iconic places such as South Stack Lighthouse and rspb South Stack.
Dining
Our restaurant offers a Mediterranean-inspired menu with some traditional pub favourites and a variety of specials, all of which are made from scratch in our kitchen and cater for all dietary requirements. You can enjoy a wholesome meal from our low carbon mileage menu and wash it down with local beverages or selective wines from our well-stocked bar before taking a leisurely seaside stroll along the Victorian promenade to the marina or a more exhilarating walk around Rocky Coast with its dramatic cliffs, expansive seas views, and abundant wildlife (dolphins, porpoises, seals, peregrine falcons, and chough, and, if you’re really lucky, a Minke whale!).
Breakfasts
Whether you’re a vegetarian, vegan, a meat lover, or have dietary requirements/allergies, we have a breakfast to suit! Our breakfasts are made using locally sourced Welsh produce from local producers wherever possible, with happy eggs and responsibly sourced meats and ingredients. Breakfast is officially served 7.30am-9:30am, though if you would like an earlier/later breakfast, we will try to accommodate, and walk-in breakfasts are available until 12:00pm. Takeaway breakfasts for guests catching early ferries or trains are available on request.
Please note, breakfast is an additional cost.

Prices
For accommodation deals and large parties, please contact us directly – bookings websites carry high fees, so we would rather keep the money in your pockets as well as ours!

A Point to Note!
We’re fairly new in business and we’ve made major changes across the hotel, including major environmental improvements, in a short space of time. We know there is still work to do and we’re impatient to finish the hotel to the standard we want, but Rome wasn’t built in the proverbial! Bear with us whilst we make our mark!
